When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Hank Denton put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Walter Handy. Yong Tracy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Horner in the 31st minute of play. If Hank Denton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adalberto McNally to make the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pickens reached it. Cottonwood West FC's Walter Handy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto McNally in the 64th minute of play. Adalberto McNally fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Handy having to interfere. Yong Tracy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Young Hatch's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute.
