Richard Ackerman made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Luther Santiago sent off a good shot on target. Luther Santiago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Walter Keys came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Royston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walter Keys couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Royston's goalkeeper Richard Ackerman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luther Santiago. 13 minutes into the game, Young Combs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BluLight the free kick. If Thaddeus Gipson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Royston's goalkeeper Richard Ackerman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luther Santiago. After a defensive mix-up in BluLight's zone, Walter Keys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roderick Valle came out of the goal and Walter Keys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walter Keys hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Richard Ackerman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thaddeus Gipson in the 29th minute of play. Thaddeus Gipson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Ackerman having to make a save. 38 minutes into the match, Royston's goal looked a bit too open when Thaddeus Gipson came free, but Richard Ackerman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marlon Bernier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. BluLight's Roderick Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Keys in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, BluLight's Luther Santiago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Ackerman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luther Santiago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Ackerman having to interfere. Luther Santiago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Ackerman having to make a save. 49 minutes into the match, Royston's goal looked a bit too open when Thaddeus Gipson came free, but Richard Ackerman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walter Keys was the one to do the kick off. BluLight's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Walter Keys scored to the left of an out of position Roderick Valle, making the score, 0-1. Thaddeus Gipson scored 1-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Ackerman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Royston booed when BluLight was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Benitez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Luther Santiago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Richard Ackerman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Omar Arden hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, BluLight's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Keys came free, but Roderick Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Thaddeus Gipson came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the BluLight fans jumped to their feet. The Royston supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Royston would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
