Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Benny Tovar took the kick off in the first half of the match. Benny Tovar came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Erik Kane could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Highland Mills FC's Kristofer Merritt got a free kick in the 15th minute. Kannapolis AFC's Laurence Stacy got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laurence Stacy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Kane having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Highland Mills FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Castro. Kannapolis AFC's Jeff McGrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harvey Feldman in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Danial Quintana notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kannapolis AFC's Jeff McGrath. Jeff McGrath was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Benny Tovar took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik Kane. Erik Kane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jeff McGrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danial Quintana, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Kannapolis AFC's Jeff McGrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Jernigan in the 38th minute of play. Jeff McGrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Jernigan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danial Quintana in the 45th minute of play forced Kannapolis AFC's goalkeeper Jeff McGrath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Harvey Feldman made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Kannapolis AFC's goalkeeper Jeff McGrath had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danial Quintana. 54 minutes into the match, Ralph Jernigan notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Kannapolis AFC's Jeff McGrath. Jeff McGrath was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeff McGrath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harvey Feldman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeff McGrath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harvey Feldman in the 60th minute of play. Emmitt Quinn kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Jeff McGrath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Jernigan in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Danial Quintana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeff McGrath was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Highland Mills FC's Grant Fritz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeff McGrath. That made the score 1-5 after 74 minutes of play. In the 79th minute of the match Van Judd shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeff McGrath showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Laurence Stacy hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Jeff McGrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harvey Feldman in the 82nd minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Highland Mills FC's Danial Quintana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeff McGrath made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Jeff McGrath made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grant Fritz in the 87th minute. Highland Mills FC's attack was well implemented in the 88th minute, but when Harvey Feldman was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 91 minutes of play, Highland Mills FC's Felipe Hobson made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeff McGrath was left in no man's land by his defense there! Highland Mills FC played a much better game than Kannapolis AFC and deserved their victory. The Kannapolis AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
