Wyatt Walls didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florian Pritchett went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 16th minute, Vince West got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Holtville's goalkeeper Wyatt Walls had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vince West. In the 23rd minute, Gordon Carbajal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holtville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Wyatt Walls showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Betts in the 27th minute of the match. Vern Walls hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Joe Betts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Casey Barr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vern Walls, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ruben Platt charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Platt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Ladonia got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Platt. In the 38th minute, Benjamin Vick sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ladonia's Casey Barr didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Holtville's Ray Hoover got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeff Willett was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Holtville's Genaro Nugent got a free kick in the 54th minute. Richard Bartlett hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Benjamin Ledford missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 59 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Casey Barr right hand side. When Genaro Nugent came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Holtville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Nugent couldn't finish the play. If Gordon Carbajal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wyatt Walls took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince West, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeff Willett in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wyatt Walls saved Holtville from getting behind. If Joe Betts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeff Willett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florian Pritchett's late challenge caught a Holtville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florian Pritchett helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 played minutes Ladonia got a freekick which was hit by Florian Pritchett. With a little luck, Ladonia's Casey Barr got control of the ball when Gordon Carbajal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute, Jeff Willett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Holtville supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Holtville would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
