After a rather tough play, Syracuse FC's Allan Duke got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Sterling Gunn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Emery Browning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th match minute, Syracuse FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odell Babcock to maneuver through the defense. Esteban Barnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachery Chan having to interfere. Zachery Chan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from C.J. Hartley in the 16th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Pine Island AFC's goal looked a bit too open when C.J. Hartley came free, but Zachery Chan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Pine Island AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sterling Gunn to maneuver through the defense. C.J. Hartley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zachery Chan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. When C.J. Hartley came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Syracuse FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that C.J. Hartley couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Pine Island AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Barnes came free, but Zachery Chan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Syracuse FC's C.J. Hartley got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience held their breath when Benjamin Byrne in the 47th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Emery Browning's left hand side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sterling Gunn to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Esteban Barnes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Syracuse FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Clark Payne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zachery Chan having to make a save. Zachery Chan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odell Babcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If C.J. Hartley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zachery Chan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Barnes in the 62nd minute of the match. Syracuse FC's Esteban Barnes got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 65 minutes, C.J. Hartley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Syracuse FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but C.J. Hartley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C.J. Hartley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Zachery Chan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Syracuse FC's C.J. Hartley got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pine Island AFC's Zachery Chan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by C.J. Hartley in the 78th minute of play. C.J. Hartley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Esteban Barnes in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zachery Chan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C.J. Hartley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the game, Syracuse FC's Esteban Barnes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zachery Chan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
