The audience was convinced that Lloyd Daniel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Donaldson was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Miles McLain was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alec Pruitt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 32 minute of play. Rodrigo Nelson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Hugo Donaldson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alec Pruitt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miles McLain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
