Pittsburgh Pirates's Tomas Yost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Pittsburgh Pirates from getting a goal against them. After 17 played minutes Denny Tackett could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. In the 26th minute, Ervin Kane fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tomas Yost, passed just outside the right post. Ervin Kane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cason Clements made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denny Tackett in the 51st minute of play forced Pittsburgh Pirates's goalkeeper Tomas Yost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomas Yost showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Donovan´s Paradise's Alonzo Evangelista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cason Clements in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Yost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denny Tackett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 64 minutes, Ervin Kane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Donovan´s Paradise's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ervin Kane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Ervin Kane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donovan´s Paradise's supporters rose to their feet, but Ervin Kane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomas Yost breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Milan Bell hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The Donovan´s Paradise fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The supporters of Pittsburgh Pirates booed when Donovan´s Paradise was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Drake didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pittsburgh Pirates's zone, Ervin Kane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Yost came out of the goal and Ervin Kane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Yost showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny Tackett in the 95th minute of the match. Pittsburgh Pirates's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
