The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Darrell Whitman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute of the match Oscar Contreras shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geoffrey Holley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ollie Durham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Geoffrey Holley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvin Theilacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoffrey Holley having to interfere. Alvin Theilacker's late challenge caught a Cherry Splitters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvin Theilacker helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, North Wilkesboro FC's Alvin Theilacker got a free kick in the 28th minute. Geoffrey Holley was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Alvin Theilacker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alvin Theilacker really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Edmund Waldron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cherry Splitters's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Waldron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo McKinney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo McKinney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Waldron, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvin Theilacker in the 48th minute of play forced Cherry Splitters's goalkeeper Geoffrey Holley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmund Waldron to strike the kick off in the second half. Ollie Durham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Geoffrey Holley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cherry Splitters's Geoffrey Holley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvin Theilacker in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, North Wilkesboro FC's Duane Rush got a free kick in the 65th minute. Alvin Theilacker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Alvin Theilacker made a precise shot to the right of Geoffrey Holley. Cherry Splitters's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Alvin Theilacker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Alvin Theilacker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geoffrey Holley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Cherry Splitters got a freekick which was hit by Darrell Whitman. Geoffrey Holley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ollie Durham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 84 minutes, Ollie Durham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Wilkesboro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ollie Durham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cherry Splitters's Edmund Waldron pulled a muscle in his leg after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Oscar Contreras fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Wilkesboro FC's protests and gave Oscar Contreras a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, North Wilkesboro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Contreras to maneuver through the defense. Cherry Splitters's Weldon Spears couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 88th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for North Wilkesboro FC. 90 minutes into the game, Lance Dent was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Wilkesboro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cherry Splitters the free kick. Lance Dent hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Ollie Durham made a precise shot to the right of Geoffrey Holley. Cherry Splitters's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Alvin Theilacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoffrey Holley having to interfere. North Wilkesboro FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cherry Splitters for a fine match.
