The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Mahanoy City's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Dorsey came free, but Louie Roe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-0 became the score in the 18th minute when Edmund Waldron elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Cherry Splitters's goal looked a bit too open when Rocco Fitzgerald came free, but Geoffrey Holley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Mahanoy City's goalkeeper Louie Roe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmund Waldron. After 32 minutes, Francis Shipman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mahanoy City and the Cherry Splitters players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Francis Shipman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darrell Whitman during the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cherry Splitters's zone, Caleb Blanton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geoffrey Holley came out of the goal and Caleb Blanton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rocco Fitzgerald's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geoffrey Holley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Cherry Splitters's Darrell Whitman got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Darrell Whitman off the ground. A collision led to Cherry Splitters getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Darrell Whitman hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmund Waldron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Alfonso Dorsey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cherry Splitters's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Dorsey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louie Roe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mahanoy City's Louie Roe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmund Waldron in the 61st minute of play. Caleb Blanton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rocco Fitzgerald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francis Shipman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geoffrey Holley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Caleb Blanton took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Geoffrey Holley to make any attempt to save it. Caleb Blanton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Geoffrey Holley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
