Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Woody Holley made the kick off which started today's match. Woody Holley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yong Coffman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Woody Holley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alpine's supporters rose to their feet, but Woody Holley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yong Coffman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Woody Holley in the 14th minute of play forced Cornville's goalkeeper Yong Coffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yong Coffman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Woody Holley in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of Alpine booed when Cornville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. DeMarcus Whitfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gregory Prather took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yong Coffman. Cornville's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, DeAngelo Hernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cornville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alpine the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cornville's DeAngelo Hernandez got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Curtis Echols sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yong Coffman skillfully saved the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Josef Maher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alpine's King Ray was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 39th minute, DeMarcus Whitfield made a precise shot to the right of King Ray. Alpine's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Josef Maher to make the kick off. King Ray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josef Maher, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Yong Coffman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Woody Holley in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Woody Holley in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yong Coffman saved Cornville from getting behind. Sol Newman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Yong Coffman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Alpine booed when Cornville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlin Ambrose didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yong Coffman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Woody Holley went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. King Ray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josef Maher's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 78 minutes into the match, Alpine's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Elder came free, but King Ray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josef Maher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without King Ray having to interfere. During the 81st minute of the match DeAngelo Hernandez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave DeAngelo Hernandez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Alpine booed when Cornville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. DeAngelo Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sol Newman in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Yong Coffman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Woody Holley in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yong Coffman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Sol Newman came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Alpine fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sol Newman couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cornville getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Curtis Walton hit a great ball. Josef Maher kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Gregory Prather, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sol Newman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Alpine supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alpine would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
