The referee ignored Monster Kings's protests and gave Paul Scales a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Walthourville booed when Monster Kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Scales didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 minutes, Terrell Yang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walthourville and the Monster Kings players grew even worse after the yellow card. Terrell Yang kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. If Glenn Horton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monster Kings's Graig Ragsdale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Monster Kings from getting a goal against them. After 19 played minutes, Walthourville's Santo Kilgore shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Graig Ragsdale came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Walthourville reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Calvin Horne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walthourville's supporters rose to their feet, but Calvin Horne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Graig Ragsdale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tim Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Scales in the 25th minute of play. Calvin Horne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Graig Ragsdale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Calvin Horne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darius Gould in the 33rd minute of play forced Walthourville's goalkeeper Tim Pennington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Hugo Wilkerson in the 35th minute really tested Graig Ragsdale's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A hard shot 43 in the game by Calvin Horne from a close distance when the talented Graig Ragsdale managed to make a qualified save. Monster Kings's players were relieved. Tim Pennington didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emery Solomon went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Calvin Horne to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Walthourville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terrell Yang to maneuver through the defense. Tim Pennington made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emery Solomon in the 54th minute. A collision led to Walthourville getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Santo Kilgore hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Glenn Horton made a precise shot to the right of Graig Ragsdale. Monster Kings's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of Monster Kings booed when Walthourville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terrell Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Hugo Wilkerson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Graig Ragsdale skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Monster Kings's zone, Glenn Horton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Graig Ragsdale came out of the goal and Glenn Horton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Tory Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Graig Ragsdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glenn Horton in the 84th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Walthourville's zone, Kareem Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Pennington came out of the goal and Kareem Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Monster Kings's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
