Spectators: 5005 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 5) Casey McKnight started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Oren Thurston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mason Franklin in the 6th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Scot Kimball during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th match minute, South Orange AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scot Kimball to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Casey McKnight took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Theo Acuna to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in South Orange AFC's zone, Geoff Askew stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oren Thurston came out of the goal and Geoff Askew tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mason Franklin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Longview Heights FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mason Franklin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oren Thurston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Casey McKnight's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theo Acuna was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Casey McKnight fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Acuna having to interfere. Geoff Askew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Oren Thurston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oren Thurston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mason Franklin in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Longview Heights FC booed when South Orange AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scot Kimball didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Longview Heights FC's Mason Franklin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oren Thurston made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mason Franklin was the one to do the kick off. Longview Heights FC's Geoff Askew got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oren Thurston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mason Franklin in the 56th minute of the match. Geoff Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute, Geoff Shapiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, South Orange AFC's Oren Thurston got control of the ball when Geoff Askew tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Geoff Askew came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Longview Heights FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoff Askew couldn't finish the play. Loren Samuel kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Cameron Cronin hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elliot Bernard during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Longview Heights FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! Oren Thurston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mason Franklin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oren Thurston stood somewhat misplaced when Mason Franklin came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 90 minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mason Franklin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oren Thurston. That made the score 2-4 in the 94 minute of play. Mason Franklin struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Oren Thurston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Longview Heights FC.
