Terrell Whitmore made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 21stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Theo Acuna would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Mason Franklin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Great Lakes FC's Sam Farrell shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 33rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Theo Acuna but with some difficulty. Geoff Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Chappelle during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Great Lakes FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Chappelle. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 55th minute, Doug Bragg made a precise shot to the right of Theo Acuna. Longview Heights FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Great Lakes FC's Wilfred Rosado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Great Lakes FC from getting a goal against them. Alistair Andrade hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Terrell Whitmore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Acuna having to interfere. Geoff Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geoff Askew could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Wilfred Rosado made a huge save. If Doug Bragg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mason Franklin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilfred Rosado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Wilfred Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mason Franklin in the 84th minute of the match. If Geoff Askew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Great Lakes FC's goalkeeper Wilfred Rosado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geoff Askew. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mason Franklin in the 96th minute of play forced Great Lakes FC's goalkeeper Wilfred Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Great Lakes FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Longview Heights FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
