Reuben Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clayton Grayson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Laphroaig's Clayton Grayson got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lazaro Groves was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Bennett Murphy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bennett Murphy really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Brady Knox recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jesus Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montgomery City AFC's protests and gave Jesus Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Jesus Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. F.C. Laphroaig were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Montgomery City AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alberto Sheldon took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Montgomery City AFC's goalie and right to Melvin Farrar. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Montgomery City AFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 39 minutes into the match, Montgomery City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Littlejohn came free, but Reuben Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st minute, Oliver Littlejohn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 54 played minutes Montgomery City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Lopez. Oliver Littlejohn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Reuben Schmidt made a huge save. Oliver Littlejohn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Reuben Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reuben Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver Littlejohn in the 60th minute. Oliver Littlejohn took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reuben Schmidt. Reuben Schmidt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Darnell Bowser's late challenge caught a F.C. Laphroaig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darnell Bowser helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Montgomery City AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Darnell Bowser hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the game, Oliver Littlejohn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Reuben Schmidt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 80 played minutes Montgomery City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Lopez. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Oliver Littlejohn managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Laphroaig's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Littlejohn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reuben Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd match minute, Montgomery City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Lopez to maneuver through the defense. Reuben Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Grayson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Brady Knox who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Laphroaig's Lazaro Groves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Brady Knox managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montgomery City AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brady Knox was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lazaro Groves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
