Randy Trent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brady Knox in the 12th minute of the match. Randy Trent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Burrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 21st play minute John Gentry came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Reuben Schmidt. 1-0. Robbie Westbrook struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Reuben Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Holland. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Gentry got free with Reuben Schmidt in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robbie Westbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Schmidt having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Bennett Murphy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montgomery City AFC and the South Holland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Bennett Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Montgomery City AFC's zone, John Gentry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reuben Schmidt came out of the goal and John Gentry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruce Cardenas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Robbie Westbrook recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Randy Trent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Burrell in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robbie Westbrook to strike the kick off in the second half. If Robbie Westbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reuben Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Gentry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. South Holland's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Montgomery City AFC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jesus Lopez hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Westbrook in the 80th minute of play forced Montgomery City AFC's goalkeeper Reuben Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Gentry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 91st minute of the match Bennett Murphy completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bennett Murphy a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bennett Murphy kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Brady Knox got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. South Holland's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
