Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Chad Singer got the match started through his kick off. Neil Matthews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Clement having to interfere. Gardiner's Neil Matthews came free and shot a quick shot against goal 9 minutes in the game, fortunately Alan Clement had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The audience was convinced that Christian Kirkpatrick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rich Mason was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 21 minutes into the match, Isidro Henry notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gardiner's Rich Mason. Rich Mason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Neil Matthews succeeded in the game's 25th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Chad Singer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gardiner's supporters rose to their feet, but Chad Singer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Clement breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute of the match, Chad Singer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alan Clement saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Chad Singer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Alan Clement tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39thth minute of the game Chad Singer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rochester City's Alan Clement was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neil Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neil Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alan Clement tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Chad Singer came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Gardiner fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chad Singer couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Kirkpatrick to make the kick off. 53 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Rochester City's Isidro Henry fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 56 played minutes Rochester City got a freekick which was hit by Alan Dye. Neil Matthews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Clement having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Rochester City's Isidro Henry nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rich Mason made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Kirkpatrick in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rich Mason saved Gardiner from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Christian Kirkpatrick fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 71 played minutes Gardiner got a freekick which was hit by Rex Gaston. Christian Kirkpatrick charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Kirkpatrick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd minute, Christian Kirkpatrick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neil Matthews struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Alan Clement didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gardiner. After a defensive mix-up in Rochester City's zone, Chad Singer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Clement came out of the goal and Chad Singer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute, Isidro Henry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rochester City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Gardiner's Rich Mason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Kirkpatrick in the 87th minute of play. Rich Mason was a little too slow when Christian Kirkpatrick got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 2-4.
