Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Wilton Ware kicked off to start the match. If Wilton Ware had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arthur Rios received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Nathanial Carlson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 minutes, Chuck Morton made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Woodcliff Lake FC's Lucien Odom tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Terry Canales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Odom having to interfere. Chuck Morton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucien Odom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chuck Morton in the 23rd minute of play. Roland Chu hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Woodcliff Lake FC's Arthur Rios got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilton Ware was extremely unlucky when he, in the 29th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 31 minutes into the match, Arthur Rios notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Newman's Nathanial Carlson. Nathanial Carlson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lucien Odom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Canales in the 41st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Terry Canales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newman's supporters rose to their feet, but Terry Canales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucien Odom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Terry Canales to strike the kick off in the second half. Chuck Morton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Odom having to interfere. With his leg Lucien Odom managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Newman's Chuck Morton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry Canales in the 64th minute of play forced Woodcliff Lake FC's goalkeeper Lucien Odom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Terry Canales kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucien Odom. That made the score 1-2 in the 77 minute of play. Chuck Morton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Lucien Odom made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terry Canales in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucien Odom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Woodcliff Lake FC's Richard Gomez got a free kick in the 86th minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Chuck Morton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chuck Morton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Terry Canales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucien Odom read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Newman could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Woodcliff Lake FC throughout the match.
