Spectators: 7505 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ulysses Rosen started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reuben Nguyen got free with Ross Aragon in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boyd Strange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Nathanial Carlson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bennington's Clark Burrows got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 9 minutes Bennington's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Domingo Wolfe who took care of the corner kick. Domingo Wolfe made a great header on Newman's corner, it was just that Bennington's Ross Aragon managed to reach the ball for a save. When Terry Canales came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Newman fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terry Canales couldn't finish the play. Terry Canales might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ross Aragon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Terry Canales ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Rosen in the 21st minute of play forced Newman's goalkeeper Nathanial Carlson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Newman's zone, Ulysses Rosen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathanial Carlson came out of the goal and Ulysses Rosen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Terry Canales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ross Aragon having to interfere. Ross Aragon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Canales in the 30th minute of the match. Boyd Strange fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathanial Carlson having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Giovanni Bingham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Bennington's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Canales came free, but Ross Aragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Terry Canales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the match, Bennington's Boyd Strange sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nathanial Carlson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nathanial Carlson came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Bennington's Ulysses Rosen. But to his dismay, Ulysses Rosen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Terry Canales to make the kick off. Nathanial Carlson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulysses Rosen in the 60th minute of play. Nathanial Carlson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulysses Rosen's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. If Ulysses Rosen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marc Dickens fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newman's protests and gave Marc Dickens a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Newman got a freekick which was hit by Marc Dickens. Bennington's Giovanni Bingham shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 67th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nathanial Carlson but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, Bennington's Giovanni Bingham got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newman's goalkeeper Nathanial Carlson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Boyd Strange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Nathanial Carlson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Terry Canales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Newman's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Rosen came free, but Nathanial Carlson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Isaiah Osborn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bennington's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newman the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bennington fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! Bennington's Giovanni Bingham got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Giovanni Bingham off the ground. If Terry Canales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Boyd Strange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bennington's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
