The supporters of Ottawa Hills booed when Newman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Houston Mosley didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3 minutes into the match, Newman's goal looked a bit too open when Von Sawyer came free, but Nathanial Carlson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Chuck Morton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Kerry Allen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kerry Allen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chuck Morton in the 14th minute. If Chuck Morton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reuben Nguyen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Rickie Holbrook hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Terry Canales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerry Allen having to interfere. Nathanial Carlson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Pereira in the 27th minute of the match. Terry Canales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Terry Canales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Terry Canales made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Nick Waite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nathanial Carlson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 2-1 became the score in the 62nd minute when Terry Canales elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Newman getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Houston Mosley hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Dylan Bynum sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Newman's Nathanial Carlson didn't even have to move. Nathanial Carlson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kerry Allen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terry Canales in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ottawa Hills's zone, Chuck Morton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kerry Allen came out of the goal and Chuck Morton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeffrey Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ottawa Hills's goalkeeper Kerry Allen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86thth minute of the game Terry Canales who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ottawa Hills's Kerry Allen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Terry Canales came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Newman fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terry Canales couldn't finish the play. Terry Canales might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kerry Allen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Terry Canales ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jeffrey Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Newman were the better team. Newman's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
