Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Everett Henley started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Benjamin Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie Reilly having to interfere. Ivan Sprague recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jesse Vogel hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Everett Henley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Wood River FC's Desmond Loomis threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Everett Henley, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 22nd minute Antony Crain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desmond Loomis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willie Reilly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Wilkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Jenkins during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Giuseppe Jenkins hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Benjamin Wilkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Desmond Loomis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everett Henley in the 38th minute of play. Ivan Sprague came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Desmond Loomis could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Everett Henley in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Desmond Loomis saved St. Petersburg from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benjamin Wilkins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilber Calloway's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Willie Reilly skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Everett Henley in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Desmond Loomis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 61 minutes into the match, St. Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Everett Henley came free, but Desmond Loomis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilber Calloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Willie Reilly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilber Calloway could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Willie Reilly made a huge save. Desmond Loomis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 95 minutes into the match, Everett Henley notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of St. Petersburg's Desmond Loomis. Desmond Loomis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Wood River FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while St. Petersburg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
