With a little luck, Pontiac's Dwayne Vaughn got control of the ball when Teddy Sharp tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, Wayne Crouch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dwayne Vaughn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Hastings in the 35th minute of the match. Teddy Sharp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dwayne Vaughn having to make a save. In the last second Dwayne Vaughn throw himself and got hold of the ball when Arturo Hastings in the 41stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Dwayne Vaughn successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 46th minute Arturo Hastings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dwayne Vaughn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and D.J. Youngblood made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teddy Sharp in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dwayne Vaughn saved Pontiac from getting behind. In the 57th minute, Boyd Ochoa made a precise shot to the right of Darell Bravo. Cockeysville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. D.J. Youngblood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darell Bravo having to interfere.
