Norman Bergman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Eldon Dennis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 25 minutes into the match, Sacachispas's goal looked a bit too open when Dexter Jeffers came free, but Eldon Dennis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eldon Dennis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dexter Jeffers, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Simon Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnathon Gallo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eldon Dennis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dexter Jeffers in the 28th minute of play. With his leg Eldon Dennis managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Mankato's Norman Bergman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norman Bergman got free with Eldon Dennis in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mankato's Johnathon Gallo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Guillory in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Mankato's goal looked a bit too open when Sonny Storey came free, but Johnathon Gallo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Cliff Schulz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eldon Dennis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eldon Dennis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dexter Jeffers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sacachispas were furious when Rueben Turner was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 48th minute of the game. One of Sacachispas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mankato:s goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Norman Bergman made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Norman Bergman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eldon Dennis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mankato booed when Sacachispas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoffrey Parrish didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mankato's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dexter Jeffers in the 63rd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Norman Bergman heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Titus Gaston fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sacachispas's protests and gave Titus Gaston a yellow card for diving instead. Dexter Jeffers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldon Dennis having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Sacachispas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoffrey Parrish to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman Bergman in the 80th minute of play forced Sacachispas's goalkeeper Eldon Dennis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norman Bergman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Eldon Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eldon Dennis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Bergman in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Norman Bergman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mankato fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.
