Marc Ferris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk Dubois having to interfere. Dirk Dubois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Ferris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Gregory Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yonkers's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Crowe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dirk Dubois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Marc Ferris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Andy Kimble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th match minute, Yonkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Howard to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Yonkers's zone, Andy Kimble stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Pryor came out of the goal and Andy Kimble tried to chip the ball over his head. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ollie Huntley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Elkhorn's Benito Downey got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Tony Uribe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yonkers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Uribe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Marc Ferris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Elkhorn's Dirk Dubois got control of the ball when Gregory Crowe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dirk Dubois made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gregory Crowe sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Ferris in the 82nd minute of play forced Elkhorn's goalkeeper Dirk Dubois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Uribe struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Dirk Dubois didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yonkers.
