In the 15th minute, Anthony McAlpin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Anthony McAlpin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristopher Castillo De Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kristopher Castillo De Reyes made a kick off. Bill Spears made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Hadley in the 62nd minute of play. Colby Comer made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Jeremy Reeves sent off a good shot on target. The High Point AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bill Spears should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Atherton FC had played much better football throughout.
