Rudolf Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th match minute, High Point AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milan Kimball to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Reynaldo Herbert reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bill Spears. The goal made the score 2-0. Reynaldo Herbert was extremely unlucky when he, in the 38th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Melvin Marin's late challenge caught a High Point AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melvin Marin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Canal Fulton FC's Melvin Marin got a free kick in the 39th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Merritt to make the kick off. A wasted opportunity for High Point AFC. 82 minutes into the match, Canal Fulton FC's goalkeeper Erik Bagley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeremy Reeves. For all the effort they put into the match, the High Point AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Canal Fulton FC.
