Gregory Crowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute Wyatt Carrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bill Spears saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes High Point AFC got a freekick which was hit by Berry Sheehan. When Jeremy Reeves came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the High Point AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremy Reeves couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute, Diego Merritt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 36 minutes into the game, Dallas Abraham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. High Point AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yonkers the free kick. The referee gave Yonkers a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marlin Barrera, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of High Point AFC's Bill Spears. 0-1. Gregory Crowe took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bill Spears. Bill Spears dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marc Ferris to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Merritt in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dylan Pryor saved Yonkers from getting behind. Diego Merritt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dylan Pryor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, High Point AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Ferris came free, but Bill Spears reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Reeves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Yonkers's zone, Jeremy Reeves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Pryor came out of the goal and Jeremy Reeves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. High Point AFC's Bill Spears proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save High Point AFC from getting a goal against them. Dylan Pryor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremy Reeves in the 68th minute of the match. Dylan Pryor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Merritt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 73 in the game by Gregory Crowe from a close distance when the talented Bill Spears managed to make a qualified save. High Point AFC's players were relieved. Diego Merritt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dylan Pryor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Gregory Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yonkers's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Crowe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bill Spears breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute of the match Guillermo Minor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bill Spears showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Gregory Crowe notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of High Point AFC's Bill Spears. Bill Spears was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
