Spectators: 7071 (Terracing: 5871, Seating: 1100, VIP seats: 100) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Donnie Herring made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 3 minutes, Ed Galloway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tuscon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ed Galloway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Tuscon FC's goalkeeper Sterling Keene had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josiah Mims. Sterling Keene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josiah Mims in the 11th minute. In the 15th play minute Josiah Mims came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sterling Keene. 1-0. If Alfredo Cavazos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hood River AFC's goalkeeper Danny Tang, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hood River AFC's Mitchell Hobbs got a free kick in the 35th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Alfredo Cavazos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Danny Tang made a huge save. When Ed Galloway came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Tuscon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ed Galloway couldn't finish the play. Sterling Keene showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josiah Mims in the 58th minute of the match. Sterling Keene stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donnie Herring's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Josiah Mims in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sterling Keene prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute, Mitchell Hobbs fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Sterling Keene. In the 79th minute, Alfredo Cavazos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 81 played minutes Tuscon FC got a freekick which was hit by Randolph Sewell. Sterling Keene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donnie Herring, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Tuscon FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
