The referee ignored Long Beach Sharks FC's protests and gave Kip Whitt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of New Providence FC booed when Long Beach Sharks FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kip Whitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Long Beach Sharks FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Kip Whitt hit a great ball. Mel Payne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonso Moreno in the 10th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Archie Vance left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Long Beach Sharks FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 19th minute Hank Cavazos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casey Murray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casey Murray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kip Whitt in the 21st minute. With a little luck, New Providence FC's Casey Murray got control of the ball when Archie Vance tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute, Allan Russo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Providence FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A hard shot 39 in the game by Archie Vance from a close distance when the talented Casey Murray managed to make a qualified save. New Providence FC's players were relieved. After 43 minutes of play, New Providence FC's Allan Russo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mel Payne was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hank Cavazos was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Archie Vance in the 52nd minute of play forced New Providence FC's goalkeeper Casey Murray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allen Small kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 54 played minutes, Long Beach Sharks FC's Luke Caldwell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Casey Murray came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Long Beach Sharks FC reached it. Mel Payne was a little too slow when Allan Russo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-4. After a rather tough play, Long Beach Sharks FC's Kip Whitt got a free kick in the 66th minute. Mel Payne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Allan Russo went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Casey Murray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Archie Vance in the 80th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hank Cavazos in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casey Murray saved New Providence FC from getting behind. Mel Payne made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Allan Russo sent off a good shot on target. Kip Whitt got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Kip Whitt hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes Long Beach Sharks FC got a freekick which was hit by Archie Vance. Gustavo Chin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Long Beach Sharks FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. New Providence FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
