Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Long Beach Sharks FC's Hank Cavazos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mel Payne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristobal Larkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 5th minute Cristobal Larkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mel Payne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Stanford Bowling came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Long Beach Sharks FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanford Bowling couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Olin Pruitt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wadena FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Archie Vance got free in front of the goal in the 28th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Palmer Belanger was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 31stth minute of the game Archie Vance who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wadena FC's Palmer Belanger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hank Cavazos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Palmer Belanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Archie Vance fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palmer Belanger having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Wadena FC's goal looked a bit too open when Archie Vance came free, but Palmer Belanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Hank Cavazos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Palmer Belanger. Wadena FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hank Cavazos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristobal Larkin to make the kick off. Palmer Belanger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hank Cavazos in the 53rd minute of the match. Hank Cavazos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Palmer Belanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hank Cavazos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Palmer Belanger having to interfere. Long Beach Sharks FC's Archie Vance got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Archie Vance blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Palmer Belanger having to make a save. If Hank Cavazos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Archie Vance got free with Palmer Belanger in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hank Cavazos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Palmer Belanger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hank Cavazos in the 91st minute. Hank Cavazos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Palmer Belanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Long Beach Sharks FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
