Lane Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Turner in the 17th minute of the match. Independent Outdoor Union's Ignacio Metz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Independent Outdoor Union from getting a goal against them. If Rene Fountain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Norman Turner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Independent Outdoor Union's Erik Henley got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Allen Graham charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allen Graham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Odenton getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Allen Graham hit a great ball. Rene Fountain struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Ignacio Metz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odenton. Erik Henley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Henley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lane Fernandez having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Norman Turner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independent Outdoor Union fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 48 minutes, Joseph Marsh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independent Outdoor Union and the Odenton players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Independent Outdoor Union getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Joseph Marsh hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Henley was the one to do the kick off. Odenton's Lane Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Odenton from getting a goal against them. Independent Outdoor Union's Ignacio Metz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allen Graham in the 63rd minute of play. Allen Graham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Rene Fountain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ignacio Metz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 76th match minute, Odenton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Brower to maneuver through the defense. Norman Turner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Lane Fernandez made a huge save. Jason Gill hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Wade Compton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Independent Outdoor Union getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ace Fulton hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Odenton's Johnny Hackett got a free kick in the 96th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Henley in the 98th minute of play forced Odenton's goalkeeper Lane Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allen Graham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignacio Metz having to interfere. Many of Independent Outdoor Union's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Independent Outdoor Union may have spent more time on the ball, but Odenton were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
