Otto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xavier Ott hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The supporters of Eagar FC booed when St. Peter FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Ott didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lamar Ervin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eagar FC's Alex Brown got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Brown blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without J.P. Otto having to make a save. 32 minutes into the match, Eagar FC's Whitney Riker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that J.P. Otto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lamar Ervin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but J.P. Otto made a huge save. Riley Martin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Virgilio Malloy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eagar FC's Virgilio Malloy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riley Martin in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half St. Peter FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Eagar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Brown was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacob Farrell kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Alex Brown had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. One of Eagar FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of St. Peter FC:s goal.
