Odenton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 34 minutes into the game, Devin Ervin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Odenton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ladysmith the free kick. Lane Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Crane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Ladysmith were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Titus Horton hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Odenton's Lane Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Odenton from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ladysmith booed when Odenton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devin Ervin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ken Brooks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lane Fernandez having to interfere. Tony Le Van charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tony Le Van the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ladysmith's Tony Le Van got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 72 minutes into the match, Odenton's Johnny Hackett broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Ken Brooks could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Lane Fernandez however easily saved by the left post. Allen Graham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ken Brooks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lane Fernandez having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Ladysmith's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Fountain came free, but Robby Williamson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ladysmith's Emery Smart got a free kick in the 91st minute. Robby Williamson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allen Graham in the 93rd minute of the match. Rene Fountain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robby Williamson having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ladysmith had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
