The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bret Honeycutt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoff Hall in the 6th minute of play. Trenton Gonzalez charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trenton Gonzalez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Yankiz getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Trenton Gonzalez hit a great ball. Vaughn Jefferson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Bret Honeycutt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Yankiz's Cole Payne got a free kick in the 11th minute. The supporters of Queen City Bobcats booed when Yankiz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalton Bledsoe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes, Queen City Bobcats's Jospeh Esparza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bret Honeycutt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Queen City Bobcats reached it. If Lee Golding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute, Vaughn Jefferson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yankiz's Bret Honeycutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geoff Hall in the 21st minute of play. Belock Deery's late challenge caught a Yankiz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Belock Deery helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Belock Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Yankiz defense, Vaughn Jefferson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bret Honeycutt. The Yankiz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bret Honeycutt should have stopped the shot. In the 27th match minute, Queen City Bobcats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belock Deery to maneuver through the defense. Trenton Gonzalez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronnie Reece. Queen City Bobcats's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bret Honeycutt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Golding, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Yankiz's Bret Honeycutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaughn Jefferson in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Yankiz getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cole Payne hit a great ball. Lee Golding scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bret Honeycutt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Lee Golding's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bret Honeycutt was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Bret Honeycutt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Golding in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalton Bledsoe to strike the kick off in the second half. Lee Golding took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bret Honeycutt. Bret Honeycutt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 58th minute, Lee Golding reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bret Honeycutt. The goal made the score 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseo Lord during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With his leg Bret Honeycutt managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Queen City Bobcats's Vaughn Jefferson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bret Honeycutt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Golding in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Queen City Bobcats's Lee Golding dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Vaughn Jefferson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Bret Honeycutt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Yankiz's Bret Honeycutt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Yankiz from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute Lee Golding shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bret Honeycutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lee Golding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bret Honeycutt having to interfere. Yankiz's Bret Honeycutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee Golding in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Yankiz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cole Payne to maneuver through the defense. Yankiz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lee Golding 94 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. Vaughn Jefferson in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bret Honeycutt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Queen City Bobcats eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
