After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Hayden Cavazos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brendon Kirkpatrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hayden Cavazos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brendon Kirkpatrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hayden Cavazos in the 14th minute of play. Vicente Ayala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matt Guy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to IRON BOYS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Waldo Knutson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matt Guy in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vicente Ayala saved IRON BOYS from getting behind. Matt Guy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Ayala having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Matt Guy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Ayala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monte Hayes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Brendon Kirkpatrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hayden Cavazos came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the IRON BOYS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hayden Cavazos couldn't finish the play. Monte Hayes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Brendon Kirkpatrick made a huge save. Sharpsburg's Brendon Kirkpatrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Cavazos in the 30th minute of play. Brendon Kirkpatrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Monte Hayes in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, IRON BOYS's Hayden Cavazos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brendon Kirkpatrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rod Villanueva hit a great ball. Chuck Orozco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. After a rather tough play, IRON BOYS's Monte Hayes got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. After 85 played minutes, IRON BOYS's Chuck Orozco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Brendon Kirkpatrick came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in IRON BOYS reached it. Sharpsburg's Brendon Kirkpatrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monte Hayes in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, IRON BOYS's goalkeeper Vicente Ayala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emmitt Stapleton. When Fletcher Hahn fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IRON BOYS's protests and gave Fletcher Hahn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th match minute, IRON BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fletcher Hahn to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sharpsburg walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
