The Flushing fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brock Mohr should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Flushing getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Wilbur Beltre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flushing's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilbur Beltre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neil Pierson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Finley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brock Mohr read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. River Bend FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
