Spectators: 6780 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 0) Clay Velez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Drew Sullivan having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Miami Lightnings's Garry Elmore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Drew Sullivan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clay Velez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Drew Sullivan having to interfere. In the 18thth minute of the game Marlon Hendricks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Miami Lightnings's Eric Siegel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Siegel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Myles Pacheco in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's zone, Clay Velez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Drew Sullivan came out of the goal and Clay Velez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Scottie Messer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Myles Pacheco in the 25th minute of play forced Miami Lightnings's goalkeeper Eric Siegel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dirk Rich's late challenge caught a Miami Lightnings's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dirk Rich helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's Dirk Rich got a free kick in the 27th minute. Miami Lightnings's Jamel Frank couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ. Garry Elmore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Drew Sullivan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Scottie Messer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Myles Pacheco came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Myles Pacheco couldn't finish the play. Scottie Messer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eric Siegel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Scottie Messer's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Myles Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Siegel having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Garry Elmore was the one to do the kick off. Garry Elmore scored 1-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Drew Sullivan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reed McNair during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reed McNair kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's Bruce Conklin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 59th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Eric Siegel but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Elmore in the 64th minute of play forced ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's goalkeeper Drew Sullivan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's Drew Sullivan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clay Velez in the 65th minute of play. Scottie Messer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Siegel having to interfere. ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's Scottie Messer got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's goal looked a bit too open when Garry Elmore came free, but Drew Sullivan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Siegel made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Scottie Messer sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 87 minutes, Scottie Messer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Scottie Messer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 1-1 became the score in the 89th minute when Myles Pacheco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Scottie Messer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Eric Siegel made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's goal looked a bit too open when Garry Elmore came free, but Drew Sullivan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 97 minutes into the game, Garry Elmore cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Drew Sullivan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Miami Lightnings had won, even though ♣ÅrancioneÉxercitus♣ ¥ φ had held more of the ball.
