Warrensville Heights's Shane Sheffield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Sapp in the 14th minute of play. Jesus Tracy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Shane Sheffield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Atlanta United FC's Luke Sapp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Lane Loomis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Warrensville Heights's supporters rose to their feet, but Lane Loomis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otis Bates breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luke Sapp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Sheffield having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Atlanta United FC's Jesus Tracy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shane Sheffield narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Warrensville Heights fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcos Barrera during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Warrensville Heights players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atlanta United FC were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Ace Mason made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ace Mason in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otis Bates prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Atlanta United FC booed when Warrensville Heights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Barrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lane Loomis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Otis Bates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Luke Sapp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Sheffield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute Monty Lefler suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 68 minutes into the game, Ace Mason was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Warrensville Heights's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlanta United FC the free kick. After 72 minutes, Luke Sapp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlanta United FC and the Warrensville Heights players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luke Sapp kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Otis Bates came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Warrensville Heights's Lane Loomis. But to his dismay, Lane Loomis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. If Lane Loomis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lane Loomis came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Warrensville Heights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lane Loomis couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Atlanta United FC defense, Lane Loomis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otis Bates. The Atlanta United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otis Bates should have stopped the shot. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
