After 14 played minutes Hitchcock got a freekick which was hit by Kermit Brennan. In the 18th minute Xavier McCullough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dana Watkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dana Watkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier McCullough's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Deshawn Lunsford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dana Watkins skillfully saved the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Hitchcock's goalkeeper Dana Watkins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Carrasco. Dana Watkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier McCullough, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill Brunson in the 31st minute of play forced Iselin AFC's goalkeeper Ty Potts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ty Potts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Spangler, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dana Watkins made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Claudio Carrasco sent off a good shot on target. Xavier McCullough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hitchcock's Dana Watkins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Hitchcock from getting a goal against them. Ty Potts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Brunson in the 38th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xavier McCullough stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ty Potts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merrill Brunson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sung Sears in the 55th minute of play forced Iselin AFC's goalkeeper Ty Potts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Iselin AFC's Jeramy Cabrera got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Iselin AFC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Craig Zamora hit a great ball. With a little luck, Iselin AFC's Ty Potts got control of the ball when Taylor Murdock tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Xavier McCullough managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iselin AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier McCullough was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dana Watkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sung Sears received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ty Potts came out and tried to block the shot, but Sung Sears slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 68th minute. After 73 minutes of play, Hitchcock's Merrill Brunson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ty Potts was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 84th minute Xavier McCullough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dana Watkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Merrill Brunson got free with Ty Potts in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90th minute Sung Sears shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ty Potts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Xavier McCullough came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Iselin AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier McCullough couldn't finish the play. The Hitchcock supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hitchcock would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
