Ty Potts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Riverhead's Gilberto Mosley got a free kick in the 39th minute. Xavier McCullough had several of the Riverhead's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 41 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Wyatt Benitez as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 45 minutes, Xavier McCullough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iselin AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier McCullough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After 53 played minutes Riverhead got a freekick which was hit by Joesph Tackett. In the 57th minute Claudio Carrasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wyatt Benitez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iselin AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
