Dana Watkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hitchcock's Dana Watkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ari Garcia in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ari Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hitchcock's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Winchester FC the free kick. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 75th minute, when Winchester FC's Al Wright after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Dana Watkins in Hitchcock's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. In the 84th minute Sung Sears shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradly Anderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradly Anderson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merrill Brunson in the 88th minute of the match.
