The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Goofyland Big-Birds getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Mickey Spence hit a great ball. In the 6th minute Dante Milton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dirk Mitchell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Owen McClendon, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Dirk Mitchell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darren Dunbar in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15thth minute of the game Darren Dunbar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Downriver's Dirk Mitchell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Owen McClendon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Goofyland Big-Birds booed when Downriver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Son Rojas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dirk Mitchell made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Owen McClendon sent off a good shot on target. Francesco Hyde took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sonny Herrera. Sonny Herrera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sonny Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Hyde in the 30th minute of the match. If Francesco Hyde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Weston Oberle during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Weston Oberle hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Downriver's goalkeeper Dirk Mitchell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Owen McClendon. Francesco Hyde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Sonny Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Darren Dunbar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dirk Mitchell. The goal made the score 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francesco Hyde to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Goofyland Big-Birds's Ernest Osborne got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With his leg Sonny Herrera managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Downriver's Francesco Hyde fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 58 minutes into the game, Francesco Hyde lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Sonny Herrera. Francesco Hyde came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sonny Herrera could save by the left post. In the 65th minute, Owen McClendon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goofyland Big-Birds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Francesco Hyde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Downriver's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Hyde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sonny Herrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 77 in the game by Francesco Hyde from a close distance when the talented Sonny Herrera managed to make a qualified save. Goofyland Big-Birds's players were relieved. Francesco Hyde in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sonny Herrera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hugh Person kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Downriver's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 86th minute of the game, when Dante Milton after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Goofyland Big-Birds's goal. Dante Milton was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Owen McClendon notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Downriver's Dirk Mitchell. Dirk Mitchell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 95 minutes into the match, Darren Dunbar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk Mitchell. Downriver's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Dunbar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Downriver players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Goofyland Big-Birds.
