Bret Varner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Brendon Bragg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walker Hernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walker Hernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walker Hernandez hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Miami Heat FC's Derick Dye tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Luis Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 26 minutes into the match, Miami Heat FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joey Stratton came free, but Mohammed Petersen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Hughes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Mohammed Petersen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joey Stratton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohammed Petersen having to interfere. Joey Stratton struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Mohammed Petersen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lake Odessa AFC. Walker Hernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerrod Peters's late challenge caught a Lake Odessa AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerrod Peters helped the player get up and apologised. Gerry Mohr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 47 played minutes Lake Odessa AFC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Hughes. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

52 minutes into the game, Bret Varner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Brendon Bragg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Luis Hughes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lake Odessa AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Hughes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohammed Petersen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd match minute, Lake Odessa AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walker Hernandez to maneuver through the defense. Tyron Key sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tyron Key in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brendon Bragg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Lake Odessa AFC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Theodore Bell hit a great ball. Derick Dye was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mohammed Petersen made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Luis Hughes sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lake Odessa AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Miami Heat FC.
