Reynaldo Faulkner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Hughes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Lake Odessa AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Avery came free, but Brendon Bragg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Whitt got free with Brendon Bragg in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gotham City FC's Reynaldo Faulkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joey Stratton in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Clement during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joey Stratton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Reynaldo Faulkner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joey Stratton, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Hughes in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reynaldo Faulkner saved Gotham City FC from getting behind. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rigoberto Avery to strike the kick off in the second half. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rigoberto Avery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. Jake Kauffman charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 84th minute, Walker Hernandez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Faulkner was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2.
