Reynaldo Faulkner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sherwood Compton in the 16th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Gotham City FC defense, Collin Vang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Faulkner. The Gotham City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Faulkner should have stopped the shot. If Albert Whitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Todd Goins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Whitt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Lechia Gdańsk's Darron Calderwood got a free kick in the 28th minute. Albert Whitt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Todd Goins having to make a save. Albert Whitt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Todd Goins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 34th minute, Sam Ponce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Collin Vang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Whitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sam Ponce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Gotham City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Toth came free, but Reynaldo Faulkner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Collin Vang was the one to do the kick off. When Albert Whitt came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Gotham City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Whitt couldn't finish the play. Darron Calderwood kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Whitt in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Todd Goins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Toth in the 65th minute of play forced Gotham City FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Faulkner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gotham City FC's Sam Ponce got a free kick in the 71st minute. The audience was convinced that Albert Whitt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Todd Goins was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Todd Goins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Whitt's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Sam Ponce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Todd Goins. Lechia Gdańsk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Ponce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. J.P. Wong took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Todd Goins. Lechia Gdańsk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Gotham City FC's Albert Whitt in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lechia Gdańsk's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Sam Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gotham City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sam Ponce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Todd Goins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lechia Gdańsk's Mel Marks suffered a concussion after 94 minutes and had to leave the field. After 95 played minutes Gotham City FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Clement. Lechia Gdańsk's Giovanni Toth shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Reynaldo Faulkner but with some difficulty. There was no doubt that Gotham City FC were the better team. Gotham City FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
