Albert Garza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 11 minutes, Alvin Gagne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the I 69 I and the Lake Shore AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to I 69 I getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alvin Gagne hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Lake Shore AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Houston Bravo came free, but Russ Dobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Andersen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Erik Bonilla. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Garza in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tom Andersen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Garza in the 24th minute of play forced I 69 I's goalkeeper Tom Andersen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Durham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Andersen having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Houston Bravo in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. I 69 I's Tom Andersen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Garza in the 37th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Felix Durham got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Joseph McNally hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When I 69 I's Houston Bravo in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lake Shore AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 44 minutes into the game, Joseph McNally cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Russ Dobson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 48th match minute, I 69 I was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Connell to maneuver through the defense. After the first half I 69 I were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Houston Bravo to make the kick off. With his leg Russ Dobson managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when I 69 I's Alvin Gagne fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tom Andersen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Garza in the 59th minute of play. Felix Durham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Tom Andersen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Garza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tom Andersen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Albert Garza struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Tom Andersen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lake Shore AFC. After 87 minutes of play, Lake Shore AFC's Felix Durham made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Andersen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 90 minutes into the match, Lake Shore AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Houston Bravo came free, but Russ Dobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reginald Kurtz hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
