If Sheldon Boyce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 25th match minute, Honeyfreaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shaun Land to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Mike Slaughter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Dempsey was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Rudy Schaffer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jimmy Cruz came out and tried to block the shot, but Rudy Schaffer slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 47th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geoffrey Pickett made a kick off. If Sheldon Boyce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. Jimmy Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shaun Land, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. With a little luck, Honeyfreaks's Leonardo Dempsey got control of the ball when Hans Ruth tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans Ruth during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Trabuco Highlands booed when Honeyfreaks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Boyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hans Ruth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Leonardo Dempsey made a huge save. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, Trabuco Highlands's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Friend came free, but Jimmy Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
