Ituzaingó's Harry Walden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Richey in the 24th minute of play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Witt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamar Ackerman in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half C. A. Ituzaingó were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matt Dillon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Jamar Ackerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Witt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Otto Beasley tried in the 57th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Guillermo Witt a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-2. 60 minutes into the game, Wayne Reid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Ituzaingó's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marlboro the free kick. A collision led to C. A. Ituzaingó getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Wayne Reid hit a great ball. Pedro Melendez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Guillermo Witt made a huge save. Harry Walden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matt Dillon, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Guillermo Witt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamar Ackerman in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Marlboro's Guillermo Witt got control of the ball when Pedro Melendez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Marlboro's zone, Jamar Ackerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillermo Witt came out of the goal and Jamar Ackerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jamar Ackerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Witt having to interfere. In the 87th match minute, Marlboro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralph Noble to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Marlboro's Guillermo Witt got control of the ball when Pedro Melendez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Marlboro booed when C. A. Ituzaingó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Hinds didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Marlboro's Matt Dillon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harry Walden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C. A. Ituzaingó eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
