Leonardo Dempsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Ruth in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th minute Rudy Schaffer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudy Langley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kyle Rose hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Honeyfreaks's Shaun Land got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shaun Land fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudy Langley having to interfere. The supporters of Honeyfreaks booed when Fulham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willis Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rudy Langley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Friend in the 21st minute of play. Kyle Rose kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Shannon Gagne was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Lonnie Copeland charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lonnie Copeland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes Fulham got a freekick which was hit by Lonnie Copeland. Rudy Langley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Schaffer, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Fulham's Eric Ruth got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd match minute, Honeyfreaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shelby Burkhart to maneuver through the defense. Eric Ruth spun around in front of the goal 44 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Honeyfreaks's goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fulham's zone, Rudy Schaffer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudy Langley came out of the goal and Rudy Schaffer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Eric Ruth made the kick off in the second half. Norberto Friend charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norberto Friend the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rocky Shapiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Dempsey having to interfere. Fulham's Rocky Shapiro got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonardo Dempsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rocky Shapiro's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Shaun Land received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Rudy Langley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Shaun Land came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Honeyfreaks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shaun Land couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Eric Ruth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fulham's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Ruth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Rocky Shapiro sped through Honeyfreaks's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leonardo Dempsey. In the 89th minute, Damien Hamm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonardo Dempsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Ruth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
