In the 16th minute, Rocky Shapiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rocky Shapiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillermo Witt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rocky Shapiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Guillermo Witt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rocky Shapiro in the 20th minute. In the 21st match minute, Marlboro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walton Lin to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Fulham getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bobby Pickens hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eric Ruth to make the kick off. When Edward Ruth fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fulham's protests and gave Edward Ruth a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fulham getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Edward Ruth hit a great ball. After 54 played minutes, Marlboro's Vito Burr shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rudy Langley came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marlboro reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Arthur Richey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marlboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Richey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudy Langley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Otto Beasley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Eric Ruth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eric Ruth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Witt having to interfere. D.J. Benjamin kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Guillermo Witt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocky Shapiro in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Ruth in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guillermo Witt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rocky Shapiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulham's Rudy Langley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Fulham from getting a goal against them. Fulham's Rudy Langley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Richey in the 90th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Marlboro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
