Palmer McCracken took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ken Tillman. Smacker's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Lee Cochran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Quinton Riggs from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Cliff Torres's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Smacker's Ken Tillman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Phillips in the 78th minute of play. Lee Cochran scored 1-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ken Tillman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reggie Hager fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Torres having to interfere.
